Zouk Tea Bar & Grill first opened in October 2006 in Bradford. Over the past seven years we have achieved critical acclaim and many prestigious awards for our unique menu. Zouk is owned and operated by brothers Mudassar and Tayub Amjad and this dedicated duo pride themselves on their passion for good food.
Mudassar and Tayub conceived the idea of Zouk in early 2006 following a family holiday. Inspired by the variety of food and the stylish settings they had seen on their travels across Morocco and the Indian sub-continent, they started to create the idea of opening a new generation restaurant.
The Bradford restaurant was designed to offer stylish surroundings with a relaxed and fun atmosphere, but most importantly Mudassar and Tayub wanted to create a menu that would revolutionise the British curry industry. They felt it was important to create a new dining experience and offer an array of truly authentic Indian and Pakistani dishes. In addition to this they spent a lot of time designing a menu with healthier alternatives to meet the demands of today’s health and nutrition conscious customers.
It wasn’t long before they had taken their food evolution a step further, launching the Zouk cooking school. The school shares some of Zouk’s time-honoured secrets with curry lovers, so they can learn how to create their favourite Zouk recipes at home.
Zouk expanded by opening a spectacular 300 seat restaurant in Manchester city centre in February 2009. The Manchester restaurant has since become a huge success and in 2012 was award ‘Best Restaurant’ by the Manchester Tourism Awards
